Stephen Francis Montagna delivers another high-stakes military thriller with Operation Dragon Claw, a gripping and explosive novel that combines modern terrorism, elite special operations, and a terrifying natural disaster scenario into one unforgettable story. With relentless pacing and cinematic action, this novel keeps readers engaged from the very first page until the final confrontation.

The story centers on a chilling plot by a group of Arab terrorists who seize the tiny island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. Their mission is as audacious as it is horrifying: to plant explosives along the unstable fault line of the dormant Cumbre Vieja volcano, triggering a massive landslide of over 125 million tons of earth into the Atlantic Ocean. The result would be a catastrophic mega-tsunami capable of unleashing a 75-meter tidal wave across the Atlantic, threatening millions of lives on the eastern coast of the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean.

To stop this apocalyptic threat, the elite Dragon Fire Troops are deployed. Montagna shines in his portrayal of military teamwork, battlefield leadership, and the courage of soldiers operating under impossible odds. The Dragon Fire unit is composed of tough, highly skilled operatives whose personalities and loyalty to one another add depth and authenticity to the combat sequences. Their mission is not only to stop terrorists—but to prevent one of the greatest disasters in human history.

What makes Operation Dragon Claw especially compelling is its blend of scientific possibility and military suspense. Montagna uses the real geological concerns surrounding La Palma and the Cumbre Vieja volcano to create a believable doomsday scenario. This adds a layer of realism that heightens the tension and makes the stakes feel frighteningly real.

The action scenes are intense, vivid, and nonstop. Readers who enjoy Tom Clancy-style thrillers, military fiction, and geopolitical suspense will find much to admire here. Montagna’s storytelling captures the chaos of modern warfare while emphasizing themes of bravery, sacrifice, and the global consequences of terrorism.

Overall, Operation Dragon Claw is an adrenaline-fueled military thriller with a terrifying premise and heroic action at its core. Stephen Francis Montagna successfully combines disaster fiction with elite combat drama to create a fast-paced novel that will appeal to fans of action-packed suspense. A bold and timely read that reminds us how fragile the world can be—and how vital courage is in protecting it.
