READER’S GUIDE
The Vulture Will Lead You to Death by Stephen Francis Montagna is a counterterrorism thriller. At the Port of Miami, one attack could change everything.
The Vulture Will Lead You to Death is a counterterrorism thriller on America’s southern edge. Terrorists enter the United States from Cuba with one target, the Port of Miami, where they know a supertanker is docked. What they do not know is that an equally massive armament ship carrying military supplies is stationed at the same seaport, and that it will add its own force to the blast.
The book portfolio names the man behind the plot—General Abdol Karim Kalantari, called “The Vulture”—and the force that hunts him: Captain Robert Walker’s elite multinational unit, with Sergeant Dorothy Ramirez, Colonel Bruce Leadbetter and General John White. Before the attack reaches Miami, the Florida Keys become a battlefield. The editorial review published with the novel sets it in the early 2000s and recommends it to readers of Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn and Dale Brown.

General Abdol Karim Kalantari, the Iranian commander behind the attack, according to the book portfolio. A character of the same name appears as Iran’s president in IFF: Identify Friend or Foe.
The elite strike force at the center of the novel, led in the field by Captain Robert Walker. The review of Trump’s Brass Escalator also describes the force, by its initials MNRRF.
Yes. The Vulture Will Lead You to Death stands alone; no other book needs to be read first. It shares characters with other novels: Captain Robert Walker also appears across the author’s other thrillers and leads the Scorpion Trilogy.
